Job Role

You will lead Business Development Reps (BDRs)in their mission to accelerate customer expansion, increase renewal rates, and targeted account acquisition. The BDR team works hand-in-hand with marketing and outside sales to deliver a world-class customer experience.

Candidates with extensive customer-facing, quota carrying, business closing experience are more likely to be successful. 
 

Daily activities will include working with BDRs and regional field teams to focus on designated target accounts, as well as coordinating with Marketing on demand-gen efforts. This is a high-performance team, so the ideal candidate should be good at working against goals and be competitive. BDRs will report to you and will be responsible for guiding the customer conversation and ultimately providing qualifying information to outside sales.

 

Responsibilities/What You’ll Do
 

  • Build and lead a group of Business Development Representatives (BDR)
  • Meet or exceed organizational objectives and meet or exceed assigned quota/goals  
  • Lead day-to-day operations of BDR team and maintain daily accountability  
  • Develop and train BDRs to drive them toward quota attainment  
  • Effectively leverage the sharing of best practices and resource allocation across the BDR organization 
  • Provide team-wide, highly visible leadership and communication that includes competitive information, prospect analysis, and feedback from sales leadership 
  • Work collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams to establish a systemic approach to inbound and outbound prospect-qualification that is aligned with organizational goals  
  • Interact regularly with sales leaders to discuss outcomes and value demonstration  
  • Proactively develop new ideas and/or creative programs to stimulate customer interest and demand, resulting in new approaches to prospecting 
  • Motivate individuals and team to exceed objectives through clarification of objectives and attainment, coaching, regular broadcast of results, and creative incentives 
  • Work closely with BDRs to ensure lead quality/quantity and proper follow-up 
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvement in the areas of process, efficiency, effectiveness 


Qualifications of the Position

 

  • Work experience as a Business Development Manager, software sales experience preferred 
  • Experience should include 5+ years of insides sales experience with an enterprise software 
  • Full understanding of the sales process from lead to close to ongoing account management 
  • Experience in call coaching to improve rep performance and customer experience 
  • Looking for a Player coach who loves to get on the phone to help close deals 
  • Consistent record of overachievement against assigned goals/quotas 
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and activities while paying attention to detail 
  • Is a self-starter who is confident in an ambitious environment and has a track record of using analytic skills to actively develop new insights that drive operational strategy and revenue growth 
  • Excellent leadership, energy, judgment, communication, management and analytical skills required 
  • Passionate about growing and building a business to its full potential 
  • Reputation for recent and historical success overachieving team quotas while keeping the customer happy 
  • You are very comfortable talking to the technical teams, the lines of business and the “C” Suite 
  • Strong executive presence, you are polished and strong dedication 
  • Forecasting commitments and forecasting accuracy 
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-growing, fast-paced environment 
  • Use CRM systems (Salesforce) extensively 
  • Able to commute daily into our Plano office 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
