Many RPA vendors use automation functionality that relies on a user interface (UI). The robot mimics the way a human would complete a process within a system. This automation technology reads the UI architecture (hidden code) and determines the specific unique identifiers for fields or buttons required to complete a task. All RPA deployments that use this kind of screen automation risk malfunction whenever the user interface changes – which changes the unique identifiers. These changes often happen during application system updates or upgrades, or operating system updates/upgrades.
SAP processes automated with Redwood support the S/4 HANA upgrade. More than 95% of the processes already automated in ECC 6.0 will continue to work in S/4 HANA with no adjustments required.
