General Ledger Accountant

Key to this role is completion of the monthly closing process for various entities within the organisation. This will also include preparation of journal entries, accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, reconciliation of general ledger accounts along with detailed supporting analysis. An eye for detail is essential as you will review and perform variance analysis on balance sheet and profit and loss accounts during the closing procedures. Day-to-day accounting activities including; invoicing licenses and maintenance support, carrying out debtor collections, commission calculations and handling payments are all part of this broad role as the company travels through an exciting period of change and growth. 

Responsibilities
  • Complete the monthly closing process
  • Review and perform variance analysis on balance sheet and profit and loss accounts
  • Support payroll team with monthly processes and review the payroll journals and supporting documentation
  • Proactively work to ensure all compliance requirements are met in a timely manner, i.e. various tax filings, statutory and statistical filings and audits
  • Proactively communicate with external auditors and effectively manage the audit process
Skills
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance preferable not essential
  • Proven experience in accounting/bookkeeping, such as month and year financial close
  • Strong Excel skills are vital
  • Use of Oracle Netsuite and Exact Globe a bonus but not critical
  • Good communicative/written skills required (fluent Dutch only essential if based in the NL, if based in the UK - only fluent English is essential)
