Job Purpose
Our SAP Senior Business Process Consultants are trusted advisors and experts on how SAP along with Redwood capabilities can be leveraged to address business challenges and provide business value, specifically in the Utilities industry. This is primarily a delivery focused consulting role which includes identifying, understanding and defining customer needs; architecting and deploying solutions; and helping in the creation of new value add business solutions. In addition, you will be capable of providing support to the sales process and presenting proposed solutions to clients. This position can require up to 100% travel.
Responsibilities
As a Utilities business process expert you will work with Redwood Utility clients to understand the specific business challenges they face within defined business functions such as Meter-to-cash, Customer Service, Finance, and others where Redwood has or could have a value proposition:
- Understand and document Business issues, define Business requirements, design and develop outline solutions
- Develop detailed Statements of Work that address specific business challenges and will deliver agreed business outcomes
- Provide support to the sales process; identifying, understanding and defining customer needs; and helping in the creation of value add business solutions
- Provide the customer with a business case, showing costs, benefits, and associated ROI
- Lead, or participate as part of a team, in the delivery of the project through successful implementation and handover to support & maintenance
- Capable of thinking conceptually, but also have the practical ability to get things done
- Analytical thinker with the insight and creativity to develop balanced solutions that fulfill the needs of complex and diverse business scenarios
- Evaluation of new releases and/or support packs within realm of expertise and provide recommendations on whether these changes should be applied to production to meet business requirements
- Work across-functional business areas to identify, understand and define user requirements
- As the lead Business Process Consultant, help lead the pre-sales activities as a Solution Advisor for our customer base, assisting your sales colleagues to communicate the business value that Redwood can deliver
- Lead discovery calls with potential clients to understand their business challenges and collect information that will enable Redwood to develop a value proposition to specifically address these
- Take ownership of developing the solution to the level that a compelling proposition can be presented to the client and participate in meetings with the client
- Create and develop persuasive sales presentations that demonstrate the value that Redwood can delivery throughout the various business process functions
- Demonstrate thought leadership and relevant financial process expertise throughout the sales and delivery processes
Skills and Experience
- Detailed understanding of the end-to-end key corporate processes, and the complex business challenges associated with these processes within the Utilities industry, including the Meter-to-Cash process, the associated Mass activity processing and, within these, the Billing, Customer Services, Meter Data Management, Finance, and other related functions
- 8-10 years' experience in SAP with broad SAP utilities experience and extensive experience in working directly with the business functions to collect and analyze business requirements and design solutions that deliver agreed business outcomes.
- Deep functional / configuration expertise in SAP for Utilities, specifically the SAP Industry Solution for Utilities (IS-U) and Customer Relationship and Billing (CRB)
- Relevant experience with at least two different utility services (e.g. electric, water, gas, etc) and preferably with multi-utility companies.
- A proven track record of successful project management in large-scale SAP implementations, covering the full project life cycle from system definition, system build and implementation to roll-out, maintenance and on-going improvement.
- 5 full life cycle Utility implementations (prior experience defining/implementing solutions in a highly complex systems and project environment)
- Sales reporting and analysis
- Bachelor's Degree

- Sound analytical and problem solving skills, excellent consulting skills, demonstrated leader, self-confident
- Excellent oral and written communication skills of complex and technical concepts.
- Strong relationship building and influencing skills; able to mediate opposing viewpoints; work well in a team environment
- Must be willing to travel on a regular basis, with up to 100% travel being required at certain times (e.g. during engagement delivery)
- Prior program/project management experience in a complex SAP environment
- Utilities work experience (i.e. employed by a utility) is a plus, particularly in areas relevant to Mass Activity / Meter-to-Cash
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus
