Graduate Software Developer

What the role involves:

This role forms part of the Software Development team, its remit is to take responsibility for creating and building software which is being used by thousands of the worlds biggest corporations to run their mission critical business and IT processes. Check out our customers.

Reporting to the VP of Product Management, the team of graduate developers will be given the opportunity to complete our six-month Graduate Developer training program.

The training program covers skills not traditionally taught at university, you will learn planning, design and estimation, product knowledge, and will be given the opportunity to develop your technical skills to become a knowledgeable Junior Developer. You will also be given the opportunity to gain experience within the Support and Consultancy teams. We encourage you to take interest in understanding the needs of our customers, so you truly understand business solutions and impact, giving the business services even more value add.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Work with other team members and customers to improve the product.
  • Design and create functionality mock-ups for new features as proposed by the product owner
  • Design and implement new functionality based on completed mock-ups
  • Support and improve existing functionality of the product

We ask:

You should be passionate about creating the best user experience possible. Ideally you will already have some experience in Java, or in another web development language (e.g. PHP or ASP.NET). Our primary development language is Java, so you will be expected to learn and work in Java on a daily basis.

Experience and skills:

  • Some experience with Java, in the context of Web Development, including one or more of JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Java (server or applet).
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Existing permission to work in The Netherlands (including citizenship of an EU state).

Education Requirement

You need a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, with a 70% average or better in your final year. Formal education in Computer Science would be highly beneficial.
